We’re headed for our first mostly widespread snow of the season this weekend! Nearly all of the Bay State, apart from the Cape & Islands, is under a Winter Weather Advisory. Accumulating snow is likely for most of the Massachusetts. While this storm shouldn’t be too much of a bear to contend with, it will test your winter driving skills if you’re out an about especially Saturday afternoon & evening. You’ll also need to ready the shovel.
Snow moves in tomorrow morning first across SE Mass., filling in south of the Mass. Pike during the morning hours.
By late morning/early afternoon we’ve got snow across most of Massachusetts, with widespread snow through most of the state into the evening hours. We’ll see a mix and even rain at times across the coastline (South Shore/Cape Ann etc), which will mean lower totals and a sharp snow total gradient increasing farther inland.
Snow lightens late Saturday night, with a few snow showers possible early Sunday morning. We keep the slight chance for some lingering light rain/snow Sunday afternoon with blustery winds out of the west.
Higher end of the 3-6″ range looks to be west of Route 128.
