Hurricane Matthew continues to grind along the FL/GA coastline this evening and will head to coastal South Carolina by morning (possible landfall near Beaufort-Charleston). Meanwhile up in these parts we are closing the books on another fine fall day with most towns reaching the low 70s under sunny skies. The holiday weekend is decent–like Meat Loaf would sing…Two Out Of Three Aint Bad..
Tomorrow is the warmest of the 3, while Monday looks to be the brightest. Sunday is the disappointment (like Porcello & Price) with cloudy skies and a few showers likely. That is a bit of a change from my forecasts earlier this week. reason being is a cool front slated to swing through New England tomorrow night was supposed to glide offshore on Sunday but now that front wants to take a lil more time in New England. That means Sunday is a mostly cloudy day and the risk of a few light showers (more like a general light rain on Cape Cod). Farther west–out by Worcester–you are likely to stay dry in spite of clouds. This map shows where raindrops are likely:
From Boston to Beverly, we may be able to push those showers out of here by early afternoon (should be OK for the Sox game late day) but Plymouth-New Bedford-Chatham, plan on off/on light rain for much of the day. Got a little ahead of myself—Tomorrow features a lot of clouds but I think the daylight hours are dry with any sprinkle/shower threat holding off until after dark. Monday, Columbus Day is the brightest of the three with abundant sunshine. Great for picking apples & snapping pics of the leaves.
More dry weather anticipated next week.
Have a great holiday weekend.
