Hot and HUMID!  A summer feel in September!  Did you enjoy?  I’ll be honest, I’m not one to complain about the weather – but for me today was rough, meaning #thestruggleisreal.  I know, I know!  We should never complain about the warm days because we also have plenty of cold on the way to balance things out!  But it is September, after all… and highs in the 90s in September just won’t do (says Bri).  The high in Boston today was 93°, making it the 21st day this year of 90°+ for BOS (Logan) – and this tied the record high for today, set last year.  Remember last year?  September 9th, 2015 we were on the THIRD CONSECUTIVE DAY of 90°+, making for a September heat wave.  After that day though, no more 90° days for the rest of the 2015.  Today could also be our last “summer scorcher,” and I do know what’s coming, so I’ll keep my complaining to myself.  It was really humid though… not just hot… also humid… so…

Onto the weekend!  We do get a pretty significant cool-down into tomorrow (at least, compared to today).  We’ll start with clouds again, and wait for peeks of sunshine in the afternoon.  While it will still be muggy, humidity will not be as oppressive as today.  High temps top out in the mid 70s to low 80s; coolest for the coastline – and dewpoints will be in the mid to upper 60s.  You know what I always say (because I say it a LOT):  Dewpoints above 60° is when you start to notice the humidity, and above 70° is oppressive.  Dewpoints at 60° or below would represent a much more “comfortable” air mass.  Sunday’s dewp’s will be in the LOW 60s, and on Monday we REALLY dry things out (dewp’s in the upper 40s!).

We do have a couple of chances to get some showers this weekend, but it does NOT look like a washout.  Don’t change or cancel any of your outdoor plans!!  First shot comes early tomorrow morning, and then possibly again during the Saturday overnight hours.  Could even be a rumble of thunder, but I don’t expect anything crazy.  Another chance for rain arrives on Sunday, again during the early hours.  We’ll clear things out for Sunday afternoon.  If I could pick my favorite PART of the weekend, I would say “Sunday afternoon.”  But we all know you won’t be out on the links or enjoying the beach on Sunday!!!  I’m no dummy!  You’ll be pre-gaming for the Patriot’s Home Opener!!!  GO PATS!!!  If that’s not a sign that fall is here, I don’t know what is.

If you didn’t like today’s heat and humidity, hang in there.  Fall really is on the way.  You can spot it at the end of my 7on7 forecast!  – Breezy
