The Vampire Diaries returns Friday night on CW56 and 7News’ Christa Delcamp talked one-on-one with one of the show’s stars.
One of the main characters is trying his hand at directing once again.
Ian Somerhalder plays one of the vampires, Damon, in the series.
After nearly a month-long break, the Vampire Diaries returns with an all new episode set three years in the future, directed by Somerhalder.
"As an actor, when I go and I talk to the actors, I’m coming to them as one of them," he said.
This is the second episode he has directed since the show started in 2009.
In Friday night’s episode, Damon offers to have his brother’s scar magically transferred to him. Somerhalder said there are good reasons the audience has responded to Damon the way they have.
"Lots changed around him, but he’s still making horrible, horrible decisions, with good intention, but really bad decisions," he said.
The 37-year-old actor said he may visit Boston sometime soon.
"I will make that announcement, I’m really excited to get back there," he said. "You know, there are a lot of really amazing things that happen in Boston, so stay tuned."
The episode airs at 8 p.m. on CW56.
