LOS ANGELES (NBC) — One of the most challenging obstacle courses in the world and the men and women brave enough to take it on return tonight on “American Ninja Warrior”.

Geoff Britten made “American Ninja Warrior” history last season when he became the first American to concur the course, and just moments later Isaac Caldiero joined him with an even faster time, winning the show’s first ever million dollar prize.

With the impossible now possible, changes are ahead. Not only are there 27 new obstacles this season, even familiar ones are tweaked.

More than 70,000 people submitted videos hoping to be considered for the show this season.

“We had people camp out for 22 days to try to get a shot on the course,” says cohost Matt Iseman.

“American Ninja Warrior” airs tonight at 8pm Eastern, followed by the season premiere of the hospital drama “The Night Shift”.
