BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A West Bridgewater man accused of being drunk behind the wheel when he caused a fatal crash in Brockton over the weekend is expected to be arraigned Thursday on manslaughter and vehicular homicide charges, authorities said.

Robert Kilday, 22, was taken into custody Wednesday night on charges including motor vehicle manslaughter, motor vehicle homicide, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said.

Officers responding to a reported motor vehicle accident on East Street around 7:30 p.m. Friday found a pickup truck and a sedan that had crashed.

Jorge Leite, 54, had to be extricated from his sedan before being taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where he died early Saturday morning.

Kilday suffered minor injuries. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Brockton District Court.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
