Remember the dance–The Limbo?

For me, this was the Limbo Debate–as in, “how low can you go?”

The first moderator’s question was about Trump’s infamous “when you’re a star … you can do anything” to women comments–and that set the tone.

And I thought the tone was on the edge of political pornography.

But then I thought, what difference, at this point, does it make?

My guess is, not much.

Hillary Clinton “won” the debate because she kept her head while Trump levelled every charge at her he could think of, including the sex life her husband, the former president.

Trump tried many times to provoke her, but never succeeded.

Of course Trump lost.  The only way he could win was by becoming a different person, with a different past.

And he didn’t, because he can’t, as no one can.

Trump is what he is:  and that can be very small, and mean, and self-centered, and ugly.

But Trump wasn’t the only loser in this debate;  there were millions more.

The biggest loser is us, the United States of America.

Tonight we saw the highest office in the land brought down to the lowest level.

Tonight our presidency–and nation–lost some of its majesty.

Have you already heard enough?

If not, what more would you like to hear?

This campaign has already done its job–it’s revealed who the candidates are.

If you still don’t know how you’re going to vote, I don’t know why you don’t know.
