BOSTON (WHDH) - In any other campaign, this would be the “October Surprise” that could change the outcome of an election just days away.
But this campaign is not like any other and therefore, whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or independent voter, you should not be surprised.
There’s been a big question about honesty hanging over Hillary Clinton ever since her unauthorized email server was discovered last year. Clinton appeared to put it behind her when FBI Director James Comey announced this summer that she should not be prosecuted, even though she was, “exceedingly careless” handling classified material.
That might have ended it but then there was a wave of WikiLeaks, thousands of hacked emails to and from Hillary and her top staffers. And the New York Times is reporting the new emails were discovered as part of the probe into disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, the husband of Clinton’s top aide.
Now, the FBI is investigating again. Friday, Comey said he does not know if the new emails are significant or how long it will take to review them.
Well here’s something I already know: If you thought this campaign couldn’t get any meaner, you’re wrong. Just wait a day or two.
