WINDSOR, Conn. (AP) — One person died in a fiery crash on a Connecticut highway early Tuesday involving at least two tractor-trailers, authorities said.

The crash on Interstate 91 south in Windsor was reported just before 1 a.m., state police said.

The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours, but two lanes have since reopened.

The death was confirmed by state Department of Transportation spokesman Kevin Nursick. No name was released.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also responded to the scene to remove spilled diesel fuel and firefighting foam from the area.

The cause is under investigation.
