PLAINVILLE, MASS. (WHDH) - A driver is dead after driving the wrong way on Interstate 495 and crashing into another car around 2 a.m. in Plainville Wednesday night.
Police say a young adult man from Norton in a Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on the southbound side of I-495 somewhere between exits 13 and 14 when the driver collided with another car.
The man was killed in the crash, and the driver of the other car, a 21-year-old woman from Barnstable, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where she remains in serious condition.
Police closed lanes on I-495 and investigated the scene for about three hours. Officials continue to investigate where the driver entered the highway.
No information on the drivers has been released at this time.
