Crews battled a fire at a home on Sargent Street in Lawrence Wednesday night.
Four families and their pets made it out of the home safely.
Firefighters believe a tree limb and strong winds pulled down power lines that started the fire.
Firefighters said the wind pushed the flames through the old home and the power line that fell stayed live, which held firefighters back.
The fire and city-wide wind damage had resources stretched thin, so other fire departments were called in to help.
The home is a complete loss and one firefighter was hurt.
