BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — A driver involved in a violent crash in Brockton on Sunday morning has died, authorities said.

The crash on North Quincy Street near the Abington line just after 9 a.m. left the car severely damaged and resting against a utility pole.

The woman driving was killed while a male passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to a statement from the office of Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz.

No names were released and the cause remains under investigation.

The woman was brought to South Shore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The passenger was first transported to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, before being taken to Boston Medical Center, Cruz’s office said.
