A 12-year-old boy accidentally damaged a 350-year-old painting at an exhibition in Taiwan.
The TST Art of Discovery Company, which co-organized the exhibition, explained that the boy tripped and caught his balance by pushing against the 17th-century oil canvas painting, reported to be by the Italian master painter Paolo Porpora.
The head of the company said "The boy’s hand made contact with the artwork and left a hole the size of a fist."
He claimed the damaged painting is Popora’s "Flowers" and worth more than one million dollars.
A Taiwanese art specialist was called to the scene to restore the painting.
