PLYMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) - Authorities are investigating a head-on crash on Plymouth on Friday morning that left an 18-year-old dead and two other people hospitalized, officials said.
Officers responding to a reported crash on State Road around 8:30 a.m. found a Honda Civic that had crossed the double-yellow line and hit a Jeep head-on, according to police.
When officers got to the scene, the driver of the Civic, identified as Matthew Wilson, was unconscious and trapped behind the wheel. He was later pronounced dead.
His 16-year-old passenger and the driver of the Jeep were both hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Known to most as Matty, Wilson’s mother says her son will be remembered as the kind of person who would give a stranger the short off his back. Wilson, she said, was a senior at Cove School in Plymouth and just turned 18 this month.
His family has established a GoFundMe for his funeral.
