QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - A child called police in Quincy on May 28 after his father ran a red light.
The Quincy Police Department posted the 911 call on YouTube on Wednesday.
“Every day we answer numerous 911 calls,” the post said. “Often times, these calls are from individuals who are in need of immediate assistance. Sometimes, it’s a simple misdial. Then there’s Robert’s 9-1-1 call. Robert is a six year old resident of Quincy…”
In the recorded call, the Robbie Richardson can be heard saying, “Daddy went past a red light.”
As the dispatcher responds, Richardson continues, telling the dispatcher the type of car his father drives, saying, “It was in the brand new car, my mummy’s car.”
When the dispatcher asks what happened next, the child says, “We had to go to the car wash.”
Eventually the dispatcher asks to speak with the boy’s father, relaying the conversation to him.
The father laughs and apologizes to the dispatcher, who ends the call after being assured all was well.
