Two people were taken to the hospital after a chain reaction car crash in downtown Boston Tuesday evening.
The incident happened at the intersection of Beacon Street and Tremont Street.
Witnesses said they have an SUV coming in reverse up School Street, across from the Omni Parker House Hotel. Witnesses said the car then turned in reverse on Tremont Street, where it hit a pedestrian and smashed into a minivan. Walter Moya, who was behind the wheel of the minivan, said the SUV’s driver was not even in the vehicle.
“The driver was hanging on the car, on the door,” said Moya. “That’s the only thing I saw.”
The crash caused a chain reaction and two other cars behind Moya were hit.
The pedestrian and one other person were taken to Tufts Medical Center. EMS said one of them suffered minor injuries and the other’s injuries were more serious.
