WILMINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Two people were transported to the hospital after a drunk-driving crash in Wilmington.

Wilmington police said they responded to a two-car crash on Main Street around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday that they determined to be a head-on collision.

Both operators, a 44-year-old female from Woburn driving a GMC SUV and a 33-year-old Lowell man driving an Audi sedan, were extricated from the vehicles and taken to a local hospital with serious and critical injuries.

Police are still investigating but said that the Lowell man is facing multiple charges, including operating under the influence of alcohol and open container charges.
