Two people were attacked and injured, one seriously, by a pig at a farm in Townsend Tuesday evening.

Police said the initially responded to the farm on Fitchburg Road just before 6 p.m. after a 38-year-old woman was injured. She was taken to Leominster Hospital with lacerations on her body.

Less than two hours later, at around 7:30 p.m., police said they were called to the same farm after a man was attacked by the same pig. The 50-year-old man was seriously injured and rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The pig has been quarantined pending further evaluation by the State Department of Agriculture, Townsend Animal Control and other officials.
