Two strangers rescued a woman who fell through the ice while walking her dogs in Utah.
The woman was walking her dogs around the Mantua Reservoir when the dogs fell through the ice. The woman then fell in as she tried to rescue them. Thomas Braithwaite said he happened to be in the right place at the right time when he came around a corner and saw the woman floating in the icy water.
"All I could do was watch her," said Braithwaite. "I couldn’t go out there. I couldn’t get any closer. So immediately I called 911."
Mantua Police Officer Brad Nelson showed up about eight minutes later. With the help of some special equipment, Nelson and Braithwaite were able to pull the woman and her dogs out.
Braithwaite said he is thankful he slept in that morning because by doing his rounds a little later, he was able to spot the woman.
Police said the woman and her dogs are all expected to be OK.
