FRANKLIN, NH (WHDH) — Two New Hampshire people have been arrested on drugs and child endangerment charges.

On June 28, Franklin police arrested Cherrie Fleck, 37 and Tristin Thibault, 19, for possession of a controlled drug and child endangerment.

Around 6:15 p.m., a police officer saw two children under the age of 5 playing in a parking lot unsupervised.

According to police, both children were filthy and one had no shoes.

The oldest child was riding a bicycle in a heavy traffic area without a helmet.

Officers asked the children were they lived and they led police to a nearby apartment.

Fleck and Thibault said they were supposed to be watching the children and assumed they were still in the backyard.

Police noted the smell of burning marijuana coming from the basement.

After further investigation, they were arrested and released on bail.

One of the children was released into the custody of his mother, who was working at the time of the incident.
