HYANNIS, MASS. (WHDH) - Three people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Hyannis over the weekend.

Clerk Ali Afzal said one of the suspects threatened him with a gun by firing a shot. At first, Afzal said he thought it was a joke.

“I laughed at him because of the Halloween kind of thing,” said Afzal. “Like, he was trying to scare me. But he said, ‘Open the register, give me all the money. Whatever you guys have in there.”

Police said the suspect who pointed the gun at Afzal was a 19-year-old homeless man.
