SOMERSET, Mass. (AP) — Workers have demolished three chimneys at the now-defunct Brayton Point Power Plant in Massachusetts.

The chimneys were knocked down early Sunday.

The demolition was supposed to happen Saturday but was rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions.

Two 500-foot cooling towers at the former coal-fired power plant are scheduled to be demolished on April 27.

Commercial Development Co. plans to turn the former plant into a multiuse site mainly dedicated to supporting off-shore wind farms.
