Three people, including a child, were taken to the hospital Tuesday night after getting hit by a car in Dorchester.
The incident happened at the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Pasadena Road around 8:30 p.m. Police said a tan Toyota struck a 10-year-old girl, her 40-year-old father and a 22-year-old friend in a wheelchair. A witness told 7News she saw the car slow down to let them cross before speeding up and hitting them.
Boston Police shut down Blue Hill Avenue while they investigated.
The driver’s car had damage to the windshield and the passenger side mirror was snapped off.
Police said the 40-year-old man suffered severe facial and head injuries but his daughter and friend are expected to be OK. All three were taken to the hospital.
Police said the driver stopped at the scene and was cooperating with officers. The driver refused medical treatment and no charges have been filed at the moment.
