Three workers were taken to the hospital after a transformer they were working on exploded in Ware.
The state fire marshal’s office said the men were working on high voltage wires when the transformer exploded and caught fire. The explosion caused a nearby brush fire, which was quickly extinguished.
One worker was airlifted to a Boston hospital after he suffered severe burns. The other two workers were taken to local hospitals.
