LOWELL, MASS. (WHDH) - The Middlesex District Attorney has confirmed that a 3-year-old boy has died after an apparent drowning in Lowell.
A 2-year-old girl who was also hospitalized has been released from the hospital.
On Aug. 20 at approximately 8:20 p.m., the two children were found unresponsive on Freda Lane in Lowell. Both children were transported to a Boston hospital.
Investigators said there was a party at the home.
Neighbors told 7News that the children were guests at the birthday party.
One woman said she and man, who are both nurses, ran over after hearing calls for help.
The witness told 7News the man managed to revive the little girl, and they could hear her crying.
According to the witness, the little boy was unresponsive as emergency crews arrived.
Both children were flown to Boston hospitals in critical condition.
Officers spent the night talking to people who were at the party and barricaded the area around the pool and bounce house in the backyard.
