HYANNIS, MASS. (WHDH) - Four people are expected to be OK after a small plane crashed at the Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis Sunday afternoon.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the Cirrus SR 22 single-engine aircraft veered off the runway while landing at the airport at around 1:15 p.m. and crashed in a rental car parking lot. A female pilot, identified as Dr. Basia McAnaw, and three female passengers were inside the plane at the time of the crash. The three passengers included a 10-year-old, a teenager and an adult.

Officials said all four people were able to get out of the plane and walk away. They were taken to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries and were treated and released.

The FAA is investigating the crash and the runway is now open.
