A 5-year-old girl was left on a school bus alone on Friday leaving the family demanding answers.
At around 7:30 a.m., the bus picked up the girl to take her to Paige Academy in Roxbury. A stranger found the girl alone, cold and scared on the bus at around 1 p.m.
"They heard my niece banging on the window screaming for help. She was crying, " the girl’s aunt told 7News.
The family says strangers walking nearby found the girl after hearing her screams coming from the bus on Hollingsworth Street in Mattapan.
"She was shaken up, scared, frightened, cold and hungry, " said the aunt.
The family says they are outraged. They say the bus company apologized on Friday afternoon.
"All the other children went to school and the person never checked the bus. She was the only kid in the backseat, which she was sleeping. They never checked the bus," said the aunt.
Police are investigating the incident. No charges have been filed.
