A 6-year-old girl died on Friday after a tree branch fell and pinned her underneath in Canton, according to family members.

The girl is identified as Kayleigh Kenyon.

The tree branch fell in the yard of a home on Indian Lane.

Kenyon was playing outside in the snow when the branch fell 20 feet under the weight of the snow, pinning her. Kenyon’s father and brother moved the tree before first responders arrived to help.

The Canton Police and Fire departments responded to the scene and say the girl had already been freed from underneath the tree and a neighbor was performing CPR on her.

Kenyon was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton in critical condition and later died.
