ARLINGTON, Va. (WHDH) – An elementary school in Virginia has introduced fitness furniture in its classrooms to get children moving while they work.
Pedal desks, standing stations and ball chairs, all kid-sized, are part of the pilot program at the Oak Ridge Elementary School in Arlington. The special equipment comes from a company that makes the smaller equipment for gyms and therapists.
Teachers said they noticed an increase in children cooperating with each other and finishing tasks on time when they started using the equipment.
