Scientists think they may have discovered a link between a pregnancy complication and an increased risk of autism.
A study found children diagnosed with autism were more than twice as likely to have been exposed to preeclampsia in the womb.
Preeclampsia is a pregnancy condition caused by high blood pressure. The risk of autism was even greater if the mother had a more severe form of the condition.
