Trey Daerr and Tim Caputo both had excellent starting weeks to jump out to early 1-0 starts. After this week, only one will remain unbeaten.

Daerr’s 165 points paced all competitors in the 7News fantasy football league. The sports reporter has high hopes to duplicate the performance thanks to Cowboys QB Tony Romo and 49ers RB Carlos Hyde, who both had outstanding weeks to propel him to the win over Alex Corddry. But Caputo, one of only four teams to post 100+ points last week, has a capable squad as well. He’ll be looking for similarly strong performances from Lions QB Matthew Stafford, Packers RB Eddie Lacy, and Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry.

Meanwhile, two 0-1 teams will be working hard on avoiding an 0-2 start and a trip straight to the league basement. Kris Anderson and Nicole Oliverio both suffered frustrating days from anemic offensive production and will look to rebound. Anderson had 87 points last week despite a loss to Brandon Gunnoe; Oliverio needed more support from her TE and flex positions and came up short against Joe Amorosino.

In other matchups this week, Corddry and Gunnoe look to be very evenly matched, with Gunnoe just a one-point favorite based on projected totals. Jeremy Reiner is a slight favorite against Joe Amorosino despite being 0-1. And Dan Hausle is a 7-point favorite against Pete Bouchard, though to his credit, Bouchard isn’t close to panicking yet.

"I’m proud of the way I’ve cobbled together a team," he said, clearly bitter about getting a late draft pick this season. "But when I play Nicole (league commissioner Oliverio), it’s going to be guns blazing."

For the record, Bouchard and Oliverio square off in Week 6.
