PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WHDH) - An elderly Rhode Island man’s holiday wish is to receive Christmas cards this season.
George Dowling’s granddaughter took to Facebook to put out a call for their annual tradition.
His granddaughter says receiving cards has helped George since his wife passed and he eagerly checks his mailbox each day.
“We do read all of them,” she wrote. “The most cards we ever received was 102. Last year we only received 14. He goes on the porch everyday and checks the mail. Hope you can find it in your heart to send him one. Thank you in advance! Happy Holidays everyone!”
She is adding updates to the post with dates — and it looks like the cards are starting to pour in.
