A few snowflakes & raindrops this morning as our lil storm from yesterday lingers for just a few more hours then we’ll see skies brighten up a bit. High Pressure takes over tonight and spends a couple of days with us before we turn unsettled again late in the weekend and for much of next week–including Christmas Eve.
Still no presence of arctic air as this storminess takes aim on New England so for most of us it’s in the form of light rain at the coast and patchy light snow & flurries farther inland. In terms of travel disruption, Sunday isn’t an issue as we’ll see light & spotty precipitation across the region but by late Monday Night & Tuesday morning some steadier rain is likely across southern New England. This heavier burst of precipitation will also nudge leftover chilly air out of here so so ice or snow just rain. By Christmas Eve day a powerhouse storm take aim on the Great Lakes region—this will put us on the warm side of the storm. As of now it looks like some heavy rain & wind on Christmas Eve followed by blustery & chilly conditions for Christmas Day. That storm next week will be a game-changer of a storm—a return to a cold pattern across much of North America–especially as we approach New Years.
Happy Thursday!
