“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Happy three-day weekend, everyone! It will be a wonderful day up on the slopes, if you have MLK Day off of work to indulge a little. We started out with some freezing temps in the interior this morning, which made for many slick spots. However, that isn’t the case anymore. The sunshine is just becoming more plentiful as the day goes on, and temps are already at or near 40 in SE Mass.
I think it’ll take me a few more cups of coffee to fully recover from such an exciting night like last night… and I’m not just talking about the Patriots’ win. That rain in the 2nd half of the game was a doozy! More than an inch of rain was reported in Central Mass – which could have been a foot of snow – (long dramatic pause) – if there had been cold air in place. Alas, it was another storm like the ones we’ve already seen this winter; mild air working in with the storms, making for a whole lot of rain. Since December 1st, we’ve only seen 2.9″ of snow in Boston, which puts us 13.8″ below average. Crazy to think Meteorological Winter is already half over. At least our area ski resorts have had some great machine-made-snow-making days!
This week, the cold is back on – but the storms aren’t here. Temps will top out near freezing throughout the workweek. The best chance for seeing any flakes will be Thursday, but that would only be light snow falling in SE Mass… if we see any snow at all. As many of the storms this winter have, this Clipper heads to the south of New England once again.
As for the weather in Arizona on February 1st? I’ll tell you, I’m almost positive it will be warmer than here! :c) Super Bowl bound!!! Go Pats!
