Protestors are occupying a wildlife refuge in Oregon in an attempt to fight prison sentences for two ranchers convicted of arson.

The armed group took over the National Refuge Building over a week ago.

The protestors claim to be fighting for ranchers’ rights.

The leader of the group said they have no plans to leave any time soon.

"Many of you have asked, how long will this go?” protest leader Ammon Bundy said. “And we say to you, not a minute too early."

Bundy said the protestors will leave when the government gives back federal land to the locals.
