QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - Two people, including a teenager, were arrested after a woman was stabbed with a pair of scissors during a case of road rage in Quincy.
Massachusetts State Police said troopers were called to Quincy Shore Drive at Bay State Road Saturday afternoon after receiving a report of an assault.
State and local police, along with firefighters and EMTs, arrived to find a Chevrolet Equinox and its driver, a 22-year-old woman, who was suffering from stab wounds to both her head and arm.
The victim was soon taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries before later being released.
As their investigation went on, troopers were able to identify the other vehicle involved in the road rage case, a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, as well as its owner and operator’s address. They also recovered a pair of scissors believed to have been used in the assault.
Having fled the scene, the driver was found at an address on Blake Street in Boston, along with a juvenile passenger who had allegedly been involved.
Authorities said they determined the driver, Mindy Alleyne, 22, had stabbed the victim with the aforementioned scissors during the attack. They also found the juvenile, a 16-year-old girl also from Boston, allegedly kicked the victim in the head during the incident.
Both were taken into custody and brought to the MSP’s South Boston Barracks.
Alleyne has since been charged with “assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (scissors), mayhem, and disorderly conduct” according to a statement from state police. The 22 year old was ordered held on $5,040 cash bail.
Meanwhile, the teenager involved was also charged with “assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot)” and disorderly conduct. State police said she was later released to the custody of her mother.
Both were slated to be arraigned in Quincy District Court.
