Pop up storms and downpours had a mind of their own today. They didn't really follow along a straight line but flared on a whim as they (generally) tracked from north to south.

Hail?

Yes.

As the storms departed, the skies put on a show. Look at the marvelous symmetry in the cumulonimbus cloud on the left. Textbook feathering at the top as it climbs into the cold air aloft. Certainly a hail-producer just on appearance alone!

Sorry, needed a moment there.

Ah yes, onto the weekend forecast now. We are without the heat, but we aren't without the clouds. Some will be around both days of the weekend. And sun will be at a premium…especially on Sunday.

Temperatures are tolerable and pleasant, not hot and humid. Generally in the 70s both days, with low 70s on Saturday right at the coast. Beachworthy? I'll let you be the judge of that.

Heat and humidity are on the prowl again next week. The hottest time period looks to be Tue-Thu as the southwest wind brings in the steamy air. Thunderstorms will threaten mainly on Thursday as a front approaches.

Be safe, and make it a good weekend!
