Fall has arrived…the Autumnal equinox happened at 4:21 this morning. It’s official, you can wear the oranges & browns, you can drink your pumpkin latte’s & pumpkin beer and I can stop saying "fall-like" temps. Like Monday, our temps have easily found their way into the 40s for many cities & towns (Boston is the heat island, where temps "only" found its way to the mid 50s earlier today) and that chill is with us for a few hours this morning. Unlike late fall, where the sun is about as strong as a flashlight, El Sol can still do some work on a cool morning and that happens today. That sunshine–brilliant & bright–warms those temps into the low 70s by afternoon. A fantastic fall day ahead, same with tomorrow too!
By Friday, a cool front zips out of Canada–yet another sign of fall, the increased frequency of cold fronts–and this front will re-enforce the chilly air across New England, not only during the morning hours but also during the afternoon. Temps Friday afternoon won’t make it out of the 60s across the region. The upshot of this Canadian air is that it is dry so more sunshine on tap. We’ll hold onto the cool fall air air right through the upcoming weekend.
Winter is 89 days away. #JustSayin
