A dog is lucky to be alive after an alligator nearly ate it in Florida.
Lori Beiswenger was on the sixth hole of her family's golf course when a 7.5 foot alligator grabbed her dog.
Beiswenger screamed for help and jumped in the water to rescue the dog.
Beiswenger grabbed the alligator by the tail, but the animal began thrashing as the dog continued to sink.
Neighbor Jodi Daniels grabbed a golf club and entererd the water but could not reach the dog.
Daniels grabbed a shovel and picked up the dog and alligator and got it land.
Beiswenger rushed the dog to emergency care where it underwent three hours of surgery.
The alligator was later put to sleep.
