Amazon has discontinued the sale of hoverboards on its website.

The retail website’s decision comes days after the Consumer Product Safety Commission ruled all hoverboards unsafe because the toys are prone to catching fire. Target and Toys R Us have already stopped selling hoverboards.

A hoverboard caught fire earlier this week at a house in Chelmsford. While no one was injured, the floor was left badly damaged.
