American Airlines flight attendants want new uniforms.

The union that represents the attendants say the wool clothing is to blame for a number of health issues.

These health issues include headaches, rashes, burning skin and eye irritations.

A spokesperson for the Dallas based carrier said that evaluations on the uniforms are being performed.

But American said there is no need for a recall of the garments just yet.

More than 1,600 complaints related to the uniforms have been reported thus far.

The vendor of the clothing, Twin Hill, also received complaints about uniforms it made for Alaska Airlines in 2011.
