PEARL HARBOR, HI (WHDH) — Thursday marks the 76th anniversary of the deadly attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Japanese Navy destroyed several United States ships on the naval base back in 1941.

More than 2,400 people were killed.

The United States became involved in World War II following the attack.

American flags will be flown at half-staff to honor the victims.
