AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have identified the man killed in a Saturday shooting at an apartment complex in Amherst.

Mary Carey, spokeswoman for the Northwestern district attorney’s office, says the man killed in the shooting early Saturday was 31-year-old Jose “Joselito” Rodriguez. Carey says he had been staying at the apartment complex at the time of the shooting, but had no permanent address.

She says a 28-year-old man who was shot several times is being treated at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.

Carey has said police do not believe the shooting was random and members of the public are not at risk.

There have not yet been any arrests.
