BOSTON (WHDH) - Archaeologists are digging for history at Boston’s Old North Church.

Mayor Marty Walsh launched the dig in the backyard garden of the church.

Archaeologists hope to unearth rare artifacts.

The lead archaeologist said the area they are digging in was home to apartment buildings in the 1800s.

Visitors are welcome to watch the dig through July 1.
