ARLINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) - An Arlington man was arraigned in court for allegedly assaulting a woman in her home.

Police arrested 26-year-old Joseph Dealmeida after they said he entered the woman’s home on Ridge Street Wednesday with a knife.

He allegedly entered the garage and approached the victim from behind. The woman tried to grab his arm and a struggle ensued.

The woman had no injuries and did not require medical attention.

Dealmeida was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for felony, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and armed assault in a dwelling.

He is due back in court in August.
