METHUEN, MASS. (WHDH) - Police have issued an arrest warrant for the ex-boyfriend of a woman found dead in her Methuen house Monday.
Emilio Delarosa, 32, is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, 29-year-old Wanda Rosa. Police said Rosa and Delarosa have a son together.
Police said Rosa was found unresponsive by police after Delarosa’s sister called 911, requesting a well-being check at her house on Tudor Street. She was transported to Holy Family Hospital, where she later died. Investigators said it looks like she was strangled.
Police said their 4-year-old son was in the home and witnessed the incident. According to court documents, the boy told police, “…his daddy, who he identified as Emilio, choked his mother with his two hands while the child lay in bed with her…”
Delarosa allegedly took the boy to his sister’s home, then took off. His sister allegedly told police Delarosa said, “It’s over” three times before he left.
Court documents show that Delarosa and Rosa had an abusive relationship. Delarosa was sentenced to four years in prison back in 2012 on kidnapping and attempted murder charges. In court paperwork was a statement from Rosa about this previous arrest: “He grabbed me by the hair…pulled out a gun and told me he was contemplating this for a while…” She also wrote that he put her in a headlock and tried to strangle her.
“He was in prison for four years before that,” said Rosa’s friend, Izzy Pichardo. “He tried to do the exact same thing and this time, he somehow succeeded.”
Police do not know if Delarosa has left the state. They have asked anyone with information on Delarosa’s whereabouts to call police at 978-983-8698.
