The Assabet Valley Regional Vocational School District has lifted a lockdown after a student found a handwritten note that contained a threat.
According to Superintendent Ernest Houle, the student found a note at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School at around 8 a.m. That note contained a threat that reportedly involved the school district.
As a result, the school was placed on "soft lockdown" as authorities were notified.
According to officials, a thorough search of the areas of concern was conducted and nothing was found.
The school sent out an updated Monday afternoon:
There was an abundance of care and caution taken to ensure the safety of all students and staff in the building during this time. School will be resuming normal operations but there will be a police presence on campus for the remainder of the day. The Marlborough Police Department is continuing to conduct an investigation to identify the origin of the note.
