DOVER, N.H. (AP) — The attorney general’s office says a violent confrontation in Dover, New Hampshire, between a father and son marked by gunfire ended with the son dead.
Attorney General Joseph Foster said Monday that police say they got a 911 call Saturday and found 76-year-old John Davis injured with several gunshot wounds. They entered his home and found his son, 55-year-old Brenton Davis, dead.
Police said Monday it appears Brenton Davis shot his father several times before John Davis retrieved a shotgun and returned fire, wounding Brenton. John Davis left and called 911.
Police said no one else was in the home at the time.
Foster said Brenton Davis has a history of mental health issues.
He said the investigation is ongoing.
