Authorities have identified the victims of a murder suicide in Peabody on Tuesday.

The victims were Gelcino Souza Oliveira, 50, of Beverly and Elisete Benevides, 51. Benevides lived at the Winter Street home at which both people were found.

Authorities say the pair had been dating but that their relationship had ended in October.

On Monday night, police responded to a 911 call from Benevides’s son-in-law asking police to check on Benevides, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.

The son-in-law, who was in Brazil, had been on the phone with Benevides when Benevides screamed and the call dropped.

Police found the two dead on a side porch when they arrived at the home, according to the DA’s office. Both victims had knife wounds.

According to the DA’s office, no restraining orders or reports of violence had been filed prior to the incident.
