MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WHDH) — A woman yelling “no vaccine” drove recklessly through a COVID-19 vaccination site and almost hit several people in Maryville, Tennessee on Monday morning, authorities said.
Virginia Christine Lewis Brown, 36, of Greenback, Tenn., drove a Chrysler SUV fast through the cones of a vaccination site at Foothills Mall around 9:45 a.m. before going through a tent that had several health and National Guard workers inside, according to an incident report obtained by The Daily Times.
As the vehicle left, workers ran over to a Blount County Sheriff’s deputy that had been working the vaccination site and said that the driver almost hit seven people in the tent as she yelled, “No vaccine,” the report continued.
A deputy pulled Brown’s vehicle over on Morganton Road and Brown allegedly told the deputy that she drove through the site going 5 mph to protest the vaccine.
Brown was taken into custody on seven counts of felony reckless endangerment.
